How To Choose Your Best Man and Groomsmen
The choices of Best Man and Groomsmen are usually natural “no-brainers,” because these guys are your best buddies. The choice of a Best Man gets tricky if you’ve got a brother who assumes he should be the Best Man, but you’d really rather choose a close friend. Keep in mind that the Best Man has serious responsibilities in the time leading up to, during and directly after the ceremony, so your thirteen year- old little brother might not be “the best man” for the job. Another point to keep in mind is that the number of groomsmen should correspond to the number of bridesmaids if you want an even pairing off of these parties up and down the aisle at the ceremony. Traditionally the bridesmaids, each escorted by a groomsman, precede the bride down the aisle toward the altar where the groom awaits before the ceremony, and then after the ceremony follow bride and groom back down the aisle toward the front door of the church, again in pairs, groomsmen and bridesmaids.
